Position: Senior Preschool Teacher
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that stimulate curiosity and creativity for children aged 3-6.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful learning aligned with our core values of Kindness, Mindfulness, and Gratitude.
- Conduct regular assessments to track each child’s developmental progress (c, social-emotional, language, physical).
- Collaborate with parents and families to ensure a holistic approach to each child’s development.
- Participate in school events, workshops, training sessions and contribute to professional development of peers.
- Lead in curriculum design: conceptualise and refine the preschool curriculum, ensure alignment with NEL/EYDF frameworks, reflect best practices in early childhood pedagogy.
- Lead in organising events: plan, coordinate and execute centre-wide events (open‑houses, parent‑child workshops, cultural celebrations, year‑end concerts) to engage children, families and community.
- Promote the centre: act as an ambassador of the preschool — engage in outreach, contribute to marketing materials, build partnerships with stakeholders, support enrolment initiatives and community engagement.
- Mentor and guide junior teachers and assistants, promote a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Monitor and improve teaching practices, lead peer reviews and professional learning communities, contribute to the centre’s quality assurance processes
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies and research in early childhood education (e.g., digital tools, inclusion practices) and integrate relevant innovations into the classroom.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) requirements), maintain accurate documentation, support centre’s operational and pedagogical leadership.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) recognised in Singapore.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in preschool setting; previous leadership/mentoring responsibilities are preferred.
- Strong curriculum design skills, event‑planning experience and confidence in promotional/community outreach work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with children, parents, staff and external stakeholders.
- Strong alignment with the preschool’s values of Kindness, Mindfulness and Gratitude.
- Digital literacy and willingness to integrate tech‑enhanced learning and innovation into practice.
- Ability to mentor and develop other staff, lead collaborative professional learning.
- Certification/registration with ECDA preferred (or willingness to pursue).
