The job-holder is responsible for the effective and efficient running of the assigned clinical departments. He/she ensures competent, holistic and cost-effective care is provided by nurses to patients in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, standards of nursing care and practices. He/she acts as a resource person for junior nurse managers and is a role model responsible for evaluating the standards of care and integrating evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice. He/she should foster inquiry and critical thinking among staff to advance care and practice, and possess leadership capabilities. He/she abides by NUHS core values, puts patients first, and works closely with partners including families, volunteers, and organizations.
He/she is responsible for staff development and professional growth of the nurses to deliver safe, competent, and specialized care of the highest quality.
