Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static to join our Singapore team. The role involves working as part of the design team on assigned projects as directed by the Department Manager. Worley offers flexible working options to support safety, health, and productivity.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Static, you will be responsible for mechanical static engineering work on assigned projects and act as a key member of the design team.
What you’ll do
- Define the Mechanical – Static engineering work for the project, design approach, or criteria based on skill and experience.
- Understand applicable International Codes, Standards, and Local Regulations; raise deviations when necessary.
- Produce Equipment Lists for all Mechanical Equipment and packages on topsides.
- Contribute to weight control reports for equipment and packages, including final as-weighed weights from vendors.
- Prepare specifications and data sheets for Mechanical Packages (e.g., separators, slug catcher, gas dehydration and regeneration, dew point control, produced water treatment, chemical injection, mercury removal, flare, diesel generators, etc.).
- Prepare RFQs, conduct Technical Bid Evaluations, and perform Vendor Data Reviews for the mechanical packages.
- Act as the overall package Engineer for mechanical packages, coordinating inputs from Process, Instrumentation, Piping, Structural, Electrical, Safety & Loss Prevention, and other disciplines to ensure comprehensive RFQs, TBEs, and vendor data.
- Prepare Inspection and Test Plans for all packages.
- Develop FAT and SAT procedures for mechanical packages.
- Manage work progress (budget and schedule) and initiate change documentation when needed.
- Ensure all documentation within the scope of responsibility is prepared, checked, reviewed, and approved per project Working Instructions.
- Supervise technical detail, budget, and schedule of mechanical design in project work as requested by the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
- Maintain professional liaison with clients, vendors, and outside parties.
- Plan man-hour budgets and schedules for projects within the focal area of responsibility.
- Coordinate with the client focal point on technical and engineering matters.
- Adhere to Quality Assurance provisions and guidelines relevant to the project.
- Follow OH&S procedures to ensure personal safety on the project.
What you’ll have
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical packages for Offshore Oil & Gas projects for FEED and Detailed engineering of FPSO topsides modules.
- Good working knowledge of codes and standards related to the oil and gas industry, particularly API Recommended Practices and ASME pressure vessel codes.
