Job description

You will plan, execute and report on the full range of evidence-based digital marketing activities to maximise revenue and customer retention with specific responsibility for a product portfolio or customer channel/service(s). Actively contributes to global team and departmental objectives as required. Demonstrate an understanding of our customers and competition to develop marketing plans and inform commercial decisions and work closely with internal stakeholders in other marketing teams and departments.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Plan, implement and report on multi‑channel marketing campaigns with a thorough understanding of the products/customer channel target markets and sales expectations to support the acceleration of Open Access agreements
  • Conceptualise and execute author/researcher outreach and engagement activities to enable the growth of Open Access publishing
  • Undertake and support market research to understand customer, competitor and market developments feeding outcomes into own plans and those of the wider department
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clients; use feedback reports to relay the voice of the customer across the wider Marketing team
  • Maintain reports, budgets, trackers as required analysing performance of campaigns, services and activities carried out
  • Proactively enhance customer experiences and uphold ethical standards in partnerships
  • Periodic travel to conferences and/or events and carry out other customer‑facing activities
  • Accountable for managing own learning taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gaps
What we’re looking for:
The ideal candidate should have:
  • Good working understanding of the role of marketing and the implementation of evidence‑based marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrable customer and commercial awareness including the competitive environment, potential partner organisations and market trends
  • Proficient in MS Office suite web/cloud‑based databases, CMS, email creation platforms, content creation tools and/or other bespoke IT systems
Required Skills and Behaviours:
  • Ability to gather and analyse customer and market data and to derive actionable insights
  • Excellent skills in managing diverse internal and external stakeholders to foster productive relationships and strategic partnerships
  • Strong communication skills including persuasive copywriting
  • Supports the implementation of change through positive behaviour and attitude; contributes ideas on how to best manage and implement changes based on customer needs
  • Develops innovative ideas that improve work processes or results; maintains knowledge of new marketing/industry trends
