Job summary

A leading marine engineering company in Singapore seeks an experienced professional to lead marine engineering projects. Responsibilities include mentoring engineering personnel, preparing technical proposals, and managing tendering processes in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors. Ideal candidates will have over 15 years of marine operations experience and strong stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of international engineering standards is essential, alongside proficiency in MS Excel. Occasional travel may be required.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Effectively lead and mentor subordinates, including marine engineers and field engineers, in executing tasks and projects related to marine engineering.
  • Supervise and guide designer/draughtsman on the required technical drawings.
  • Coordinate, attend project meetings and interface with clients and vendors to address client’s needs and expectations.
  • Prepare detailed technical method statements, drawings, and integrated service and equipment solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Review and understand bidding employer’s requirement documents, project specifications, and process data.
  • Work closely with various department stakeholders to gather necessary information for bidding proposals.
  • Consolidate and integrate collected information into comprehensive bid proposals.
  • Conduct internal reporting of tender solutions to secure management approval for bid submissions.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates on bid progress to the tender manager.
  • Support engineering tasks in preparation of technical proposals.
  • Evaluate subcontractor technical solutions to ensure alignment with project requirements and company standards.
  • Integrate subcontractor solutions into the company’s bid proposals effectively.
Requirements
  • Degree in Marine Technology or Marine Engineering. Professional accreditation in Marine Warranty Surveying or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Above 15 years of marine operations and offshore engineering experience in Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy industries, including work with major operators and EPC contractors.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Transportation & Installation (T&I), Loadout, Sea fastening, Sail away, Offshore installation, and Construction support for offshore structures, pipelines, subsea assets, and WTGs.
  • Above 5 years of experience in tendering and commercial support, including preparation of technical proposals, engineering procedures, cost estimates, schedules, and bid documentation in support of EPCI and offshore projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of team lead/project management experience, provide guidance to engineering personnel on projects across international locations.
  • Minimum 4 years of involvement in offshore wind projects, including WTG transportation and installation, with exposure to large-scale offshore developments.
  • Good understanding and work knowledge of international codes and standards including DNV-ST-N001, ABS, AWS, AISC, IMO, SOLAS, MODU, CAP437, etc.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and engineering documentation and reporting tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including liaison with clients, contractors, MWS, shipyards and local regulatory bodies.
  • Able to travel for work as and when required.
