[What the role is]

The IMDA Accreditation and Spark programmes seek to nurture and grow promising Singapore-based digital technology companies of different growth stages. If you have the interest and passion for innovative and emerging digital technologies and can communicate with senior executives of high-growth digital tech startups, we’d like to have a chat with you.

You will be joining the Enterprise & Ecosystem Development team, a dynamic group of driven and self-motivated professionals who work closely with senior executives of disruptive digital technology startups. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying and onboarding promising startups into IMDA’s Accreditation and Spark programmes, conducting due diligence to assess their credentials, and supporting their growth by developing new local and international market opportunities. Your work will contribute to helping these companies build strong track records and scale their businesses effectively.

You will also collaborate with a diverse network of local and international partners, including top international venture capital firms, accelerators, incubators, and government agencies. Together, you will help drive Singapore’s digital startup ecosystem by advancing the adoption of innovative, technology products. This role demands strong ecosystem thinking and the ability to connect partners, investors, and other stakeholders in a purposeful manner to create meaningful impact across the digital economy.

[What you will be working on]

Job description:

  • Deal sourcing and pipeline management through networks, platforms, conferences, accelerators and advisors to originate and track opportunities.
  • Frontier tech market scanning, sector research, and uncovering (quickly assessing fit to mandate/thesis and spotting under‑the‑radar or off‑market companies using quantitative and qualitative signals). Distil market sizing, competitive mapping, unit economics, revenue models, and cost structures.
  • Structured due diligence and execution, building detailed commercial understanding of tech markets, stress testing assumptions, reviewing data rooms, supporting technical and financial due diligence workstreams.
  • Data and tools proficiency (advanced Excel, strong PowerPoint, use of financial databases, deal flow tools, and research platforms; analytics skills are a plus).
  • Professional writing and presentation (investment memos, pitchbooks, DD reports, that clearly synthesize findings and recommendations).
  • Relationship and stakeholder management (maintaining productive relationships with founders, executives, investors, and ecosystem partners to improve deal flow and information access).
  • Plan and lead overseas trips to nurture relationships with international industry partners, identify and engage promising digital tech companies, and facilitate their onboarding onto the programme.
  • Support planning and reporting activities for division updates to senior management.
Requirements:
  • Good degree in Technology or Business-related courses.
  • 5-8 years of experience in dealing with the ICT industry with experience in partner management, pre-sales and/or consultancy. Candidate with more than 3 years in a VC, consulting, auditing firms or startups preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge and/or domain expertise in forefront technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Infrastructure technologies, Cybersecurity, etc.
  • Self-motivated individual with high degree of personal initiative, flexibility and positive attitude to adapt to the Accreditation’s dynamic scope of activities.
  • High EQ with the ability to effectively interact with key stakeholders and CXOs to influence decisions and engage in strategic discussions. Strong questioning and active listening skills to uncover real client problems, constraints and risks, beyond initial briefs.
  • Critical thinking to challenge assumptions, synthesise information from multiple stakeholders and reframe issues at a strategic level.
