The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) has been appointed by Enterprise Singapore, the national standards body, as the Standards Development Organisation (SDO) to provide secretariat support for the Building and Construction Standards Committee and Transportation Standards Committee.

As part of IES-SDO, you will play a key role in developing, promoting, and driving the adoption of Technical References (TR) and Singapore Standards (SS) that shape the Built Environment sector.

We work closely with government agencies, institutions of higher learning, professional bodies, and industry associations to establish industry benchmarks and support the Singapore Green Building Masterplan. What You’ll Do
  • Lead and manage projects – Oversee the end-to-end development of industry standards, ensuring timely delivery and high‑quality outcomes.
  • Engage stakeholders – Work closely with government agencies, industry experts, and academia to identify industry needs and develop relevant standards.
  • Provide secretariat support – Prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, compile reports, and format technical standards drafts.
  • Organise industry events – Plan and manage seminars, focus groups discussions, and engagement sessions to drive awareness and adoption of standards.
  • Collect and analyse industry insights – Gather feedback and market intelligence to support ongoing standards development initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Minimum Diploma in Engineering or relevant disciplines (Degree is a plus).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the built environment sector and dealing with the public sector is an added advantage, but a passion for quality and industry standards is what truly matters!
  • Project & Event Management: Experience in project coordination and event organisation.
