Job summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing chartering activities, negotiating agreements, and monitoring vessel performance. Job description
Essential Functions
  1. Chartering and Commercial Operations
    • Execute chartering activities across spot, COA, and time charter fixtures in accordance with the contracts, company strategy and approval frameworks.
    • Prepare, review, negotiate, and administer charter party agreements and related commercial documentation.
    • Acts as a primary commercial point of contact for assigned vessels, charterers, brokers, and vessel managers.
    • Monitor compliance with charter party terms and escalate deviations or risks where required.
  2. Commercial Performance and Reporting
    • Monitor vessel utilisation, hire performance, off-hire events, and commercial KPIs.
    • Prepare regular commercial performance reports and analysis for management review.
    • Prepare and maintain a rolling fleet deployment outlook as part of regular commercial reporting, including scenario analysis where relevant.
    • Support assessment of commercial exposure, risks and mitigation measures.
  3. Stakeholder and Market Interface
    • Liaise with brokers, charterers, and counterparties on commercial and operational matters.
    • Support relationship management with customers and commercial partners.
    • Assist with market analysis, freight benchmarking, and competitor monitoring
  4. Business Support and Development
    • Support business development initiatives, including preparation of commercial proposals and market assessments.
    • Provide commercial input to internal discussions on fleet deployment, new projects, and operational planning.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minumum3-5 years of direct experience in a commercial, chartering, or operations role within the shipping industry.
  • Proven experience with tanker vessels is preferred, with specific experience in crude oil or liquefied gas tankers being highly advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of shipping contracts (e.g., Charter Parties), regulations, and commercial best practices.
  • A solid understanding of shipping economics, freight rate calculations, and market dynamics.
  • Clear negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to make data-driven decisions.
  • High level of proficiency in relevant software and data analysis tools.
