Job summary

A maritime project management firm is looking for an experienced Project Manager in Singapore. Responsibilities include establishing new business partnerships, managing projects related to ship finance, and ensuring operational standards align with the Tokyo headquarters. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in the ship owning business and must be proficient in Japanese to communicate with clients. This is a key role in driving project success and client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience in ship owning business.
  • Experience in arranging ship finance.
  • Familiar with ship finance market in Japan and experience in a Japanese working environment.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is required for communication with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the planned new business in Singapore with Mitsui’s existing business partner.
  • Develop business opportunities in Singapore with Mitsui group’s existing partners.
  • Provide project management-related services for existing joint venture companies.
  • Develop accounts management strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with Mitsui group to ensure operational excellence.
  • Implement policies and procedures that align with Tokyo HQ standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

  • Fortheexisting joint venture companiesamongMitsuiand itsbusiness partners, provideproject management-relatedservices, such ascreating periodical budgets and cash flow models, preparingfinancial statementsandcooperatingwith auditors, periodical business reporting to headquarters in Japanese, financingarrangements, company administration includingbut not limitedto serve as administrative office ofBODmeetings and etc.

  • Developing accounts managementstrategies andidentifyopportunities to grow accounts.

  • Work closely with Mitsui group of company not only in Tokyowith regional office in Singapore and ensure operational excellence.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures which align with Tokyo HQ standard.

  • Build andmaintainstrong relationship with clients.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum7years ofproject management experiences in ship owning business.
  • Experiences in arranging ship finance.
  • Familiar withship finance market in Japanand experience in Japanese working environment.
  • The role requires regular communication with Japanese-speaking clients and headquarters; proficiency in Japanese is therefore required.
