Job summary

A multinational bunker trading company is seeking an experienced bunker trader to develop business in the Chinese market from their Singapore office. Candidates should have at least 5 years of trading experience in marine fuels, strong client relationship skills, and excellent communication abilities in both English and Mandarin. This role presents an opportunity to grow and manage a portfolio of clients and potentially build a trading office.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading marine fuels on a back-to-back basis.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the marine fuels sector in mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • Entrepreneurial, commercially driven, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Develop back-to-back bunker fuels business for the Chinese market.
  • Grow and maintain a portfolio of end-user clients in the marine fuels space.
  • Advise clients on market trends and pricing dynamics.

Redstone Commodity Search are working with an established multinational bunker trading company looking for an experienced bunker trader, trading in the Chinese market, to join their team.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks
  • Responsible for developing back-to-back bunker fuels business for the Chinese market.
  • Grow and maintain a portfolio of end user clients in the marine fuels space for mainland China with a view to opening a trading office.
  • Keep up to date with all market trends, pricing dynamics, and regulatory changes to be able to best advise clients.
  • Build relationships with local suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Reports into Managing Director of Singapore Office.
Key Qualifications / Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trading marine fuels on a back-to-back basis, ideally with management/team leading experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of the marine fuels sector in mainland China and Hong Kong.
  • Ideally a portfolio of transferable portfolio of clients for the Chinese market.
  • Entrepreneurial, commercially driven and able to work independently and a desire to build their own office.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Position will be located in either Shanghai or Hong Kong
