A government agency in Singapore is seeking a motivated individual to join their Performance & Evaluation directorate. The successful candidate will lead efforts in formulating programme evaluation policies and conducting detailed assessments of public sector projects, enhancing accountability and performance reporting. A background in data handling, economics, or finance is desired, alongside strong analytical and communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to work on pivotal government evaluations promoting transparency and effectiveness in public spending.
The Performance & Evaluation (P&E) directorate is looking for dynamic and motivated team members to support MOF in delivering better value and accountability for public spending and outcomes. P&E achieves this through three key strategies:
You will have the opportunity to work on the following:
(i) Policy and planning: Formulate and implement programme evaluation policies to advance the achievement of strategic outcomes, cost-effectiveness and resource sustainability in public sector spending. This will involve partnering public sector stakeholders to design appropriate evaluation and funding interventions for a diverse range of public organisations, programmes and projects.
(ii) Programme reviews: Work with public agencies to scope and conduct programme and project evaluations to strengthen programme design and cost effectiveness. This will involve:
(iii) Performance reporting and audit governance: Facilitate effective performance reporting and drive efforts to monitor and address governance related issues across the public sector to enhance public accountability. This will involve:
A background in economics, data handling, finance/accounting, programme/project planning, performance reporting and/or programme evaluation will be an advantage.
Demonstrate good analytical thinking, being able to analyse different complex issues from a strategic perspective, anticipate challenges, and recommend actionable solutions.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to engage and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
Self-driven and committed, with a positive attitude and work ethic.
