We do so through determining how resources (including grants, tax incentives, loans, equity, and other tools) are allocated across economic programmes.

Why join us:
  • Impactful work: Shape policies and resourcing decisions that drive economic growth and create opportunities for Singaporeans
  • Diverse exposure: Work across a wide range of policies across the economic domain
  • Collaborative environment: Grow your career in a collaborative team that invests in your professional development
What you will be working on:

As part of our team, you will work with agencies across Government to align strategies, policies and resources to deliver on our national economic priorities, including:

  • Economic strategy and competitiveness
  • Research, innovation & enterprise development
  • Digital economy and AI
  • Local enterprise development
  • Jobs and skills development for the local workforce
  • Business regulations and accountancy sector development
  • Investment promotion and attracting foreign investments to Singapore
  • Decarbonisation, energy transition, and the green economy
  • Specific examples of portfolios you may take up include:
    • a. Research, Innovation & Enterprise (RIE): We shape RIE outcomes and strengthen the innovation system via resourcing and pathfinding. We set the overall budget in line with our commitment to allocate ~1% of Singapore’s GDP to RIE, and strengthen RIE KPIs to reflect our ambition to translate research to commercialisation.
    • b. Local enterprise development: We drive economic growth, create jobs, and enhance resilience against global uncertainties. We enable economic agencies to develop a mix of broad-based programmes to support companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise, and targeted programmes to groom high-potential, high-growth enterprises.
    • c. Corporate governance: We develop regulatory policies that uphold good governance and accountability, to strengthen Singapore’s reputation as a trusted business hub. We keep our regulatory regimes up to date with global developments, such as climate reporting requirements to remain competitive, and safeguarding against money laundering risks.
What we are looking for:
  • Background in finance, economics and/or accounting will be advantageous
