Role: Senior Architecture Engineer (Operations Services) [P4/5 Grade]
Location: Ang Mo Kio
Type of Role: Contract (12 months renewable)
Remuneration: Base Salary - $12,000
Remuneration: 1 month bonus upon completion of 12 months' contract (subject to attendance, performance etc..)
Role Overview: The Architecture Engineer will join the Operations Architecture (OA) team onsite, supporting critical infrastructure for hybrid cloud, on-premises, and network environments. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available architecture while ensuring compliance with Government IM8 and CIS standards.
Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Implementation
- Architect network solutions (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers) compliant with IM8/CIS hardening benchmarks.
- Manage VMware virtualization (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and Dell EMC storage (PowerMAX, Unity, Isilon) with a focus on security, redundancy, and performance optimization.
- Configure and harden Windows/Linux servers and Oracle Solaris OS (Active Directory, Group Policy, patching, Zones/LDOMs) to meet government security requirements.

Database & Middleware Support
- Administer MSSQL, Oracle DB (19c+, RAC, RMAN), and NoSQL systems, ensuring secure configurations, backups, and performance tuning, including Solaris-based Oracle deployments.

Government Compliance & Operations
- Enforce IM8/CIS compliance across infrastructure (e.g., STIGs, audit logging, encryption) including Solaris OS hardening.
- Document architectures, security controls, and processes for accreditation (e.g., SAF, CSA) with Solaris-specific documentation.

Troubleshooting & Leadership
- Lead cross-domain incident resolution (network/firewall/storage/OS/DB/Solaris) in alignment with ITIL v4 practices.
- Mentor junior engineers on Solaris administration and security best practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on system hardening (including Solaris) and vulnerability remediation.

Technical Expertise
- Networking
- Cisco/Checkpoint/Palo Alto (firewalls, SD-WAN).
- Protocols: BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DNS, DHCP (IM8-compliant configurations).
- Virtualization & Storage
- VMware (vSphere 7.x+, NSX, HA/DRS)
- Dell EMC (PowerMAX/VMAX, Unity, Data Domain)
- Operating Systems
- Oracle Solaris (Zones, LDOMs, hardening, patching).
- Windows Server 2016+ (GPO, SCCM/WSUS, SEP).
- Linux (RHEL/CentOS) – STIG hardening.
- Database
- Oracle DB (19c+, RAC, RMAN, SQL tuning)
- MS SQL (Always-On, TDE).
- NoSQL (MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
- Soft Skills
- Experience in government projects (e.g., GCC, MINDEF, CSA).
- Ability to obtain/hold CAT 2 security clearance.
- Strong documentation (SOPs, architecture diagrams) and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8 to 10 plus years of hands-on experience implementing, managing and maintaining secure infrastructure solutions.
