Job description

We are seeking a Science Laboratory Technician to provide technical support to the Science Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting teachers with practical lessons, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for students to explore and enjoy science.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the science laboratories.
• Prepare teaching resources (including tools/equipment/materials/apparatus and any learning or training kits) in collaboration with teachers.
• Manage inventory to maintain sufficient stock and procure of new equipment/materials/components when necessary while tracking the budget and resources utilisation in the Science Laboratories.
• Demonstrate competence in use of equipment/machines as well as simple troubleshooting.
• Conduct specific experiments as per HODs instructions.
• Conduct termly store stock take for scientific equipment/material/apparatus. Track faulty equipment/materials that need to be replaced.
• Maintain a record of the loaning out of equipment/materials/apparatus to teachers.
• Update database of science resources which include diagrams and pictures.
• Any other duties assigned by HOD and school leaders.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Science Laboratory Technician in a primary school setting.
• Minimum GCE O levels or equivalent.
• Bilingual (proficient in speaking English and mother tongue).
• Able to make use of applications such as Microsoft office, google sheets etc.
