Overview

Jotron, a world leader in marine safety and navigation equipment, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to join our Singapore office.

The Company

Jotron, established in 1967 and headquartered in Norway, is a world leader in marine safety beacons and shore to ship and ground to air radio systems. Jotron’s Singapore office was established in 2004 to serve our large customer base in Asia and Australasia. Skipper, a global supplier of echosounders and speed logs, was acquired in 2023, and greatly expanded Jotron’s presence in the marine navigation market.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate should have specialized experience in marine electronic navigation equipment, particularly echosounders and speed logs. The role will report to the Managing Director in Singapore and bridge the gap between our sales team and technical customers, focusing on the promotion, quotation, training, and support of Jotron Skipper equipment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Quotations

• Prepare detailed and accurate quotes and proposals for marine echosounders and speed logs.
• Act as the primary technical resource for the sales team and customers during the sales cycle.
• Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to prospective clients.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and new product developments in marine electronics.

Technical Training

• Deliver comprehensive technical training programs for clients on the installation, operation, and maintenance of Jotron Skipper echosounder and speed log equipment.
• Create and update training materials, manuals, and technical documentation.

After-Sales Service and Support

• Provide high-level after-sales service and technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues related to echosounders and speed logs as well Jotron’s other marine products.
• Work as part of the international service team to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Document all technical support activities, service reports, and client feedback.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in marine electronics or similar field or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical sales, application engineering, or service role focused on marine navigation equipment. Shipyard experience will be highly regarded.

• Deep technical knowledge and proven experience with marine navigational equipment, preferably echosounders and speed logs.

• Familiarity with Jotron Skipper equipment is highly desirable.

• Willingness to travel to client sites, both domestically and internationally, as required.
