Job summary

A leading safety consultancy in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator (WSHC) who supports safety procedures and conducts safety checks across various site locations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Secondary School education and 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas or Construction industry. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, educating workers on safety practices, and assisting in accident investigations. This position demands a proactive approach and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant industry experience in Live Plant exposure as WSHC, preferably in Oil and Gas / Construction.
  • Certifications in WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health, Lifting Supervisor, and First Aider.
  • Class 3 Driving License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist WSH Officer in implementing ISO 45001 & safety management system on site.
  • Conduct EHS inspections and rectify unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Educate workers about the proper usage of PPE and ensure compliance.

Position

Workplace Safety & Health Coordinator (WSHC) aka Safety Coordinator

Base Location

Singapore (at various site locations per project requirement)

Local traveling: Required.

Overseas traveling: No, unless there is relevant project requirement.

Role Overview

The WSH Coordinator (WSHC) supports the organisation's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) procedures by conducting safety checks to ensure compliance with organisational and legal standards. Key responsibilities include observing daily work practices, gathering worker feedback, evaluating workplace risks and hazards, and escalating issues that need corrective and preventive actions. The role requires outdoor work, relevant physical fitness, keen observational skills, and a strong understanding of WSH requirements. Additionally, the WSHC must complete necessary WSH-related training to perform their duties effectively.

Pre-requisite
  • Education: Minimum Secondary School.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant industry experience in Live Plant exposure as WSHC. Preferably within the Oil and Gas / Construction industry. Entry Level candidates & Work pass holders welcome to apply. (Renumeration package will commensurate on experience).
  • Certifications:
    • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B) certified, minimally 2 years from certified date.
    • Lifting Supervisor certified – 2 years from certified date.
    • First Aider certified.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently and also work well in a team, adaptive to management changes & approaches, and maintain a positive and proactive attitude within challenging working environments.
  • Driving License: Class 3 License preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist WSH Officer in Implementing ISO 45001 & safety management system on site.
  • Conduct daily EHS Inspection and rectify/correct any unsafe condition and unsafe practice immediately.
  • Attend all safety meetings, Inspections and ensure that good working condition is maintained in the site.
  • Conduct daily Toolbox meeting for Main Contractor's Workers to brief about the safe work practices and housekeeping.
  • Educate the workers about the Proper usage of PPE and ensure the compliance at the site.
  • Check and maintain the documents of the Lifting equipment, electrical equipment Testing/calibration reports.
  • Coordinate with the Client's & Sub Contractors Safety Representatives.
  • Arrange the safety committee site audit schedule and meeting on monthly basis.
  • Prepare the Minutes of site safety committee observation/Findings and discuss in the meeting.
  • Follow and ensure the Safety committee's Recommendations are complied with.
  • Assisting WSH Officer in the Accident Investigation and Report preparation.
  • Check and ensure the availability of First aid boxes and Firefighting equipment. Also, to follow up on the servicing and maintenance.
  • Brief about emergency evacuation, escape route and head counting to the workers and the Emergency Assembly Area.
  • Maintaining SMS filling system.
  • Carry out safety administration duties as assigned.
