Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Monitor vessel and machinery operation areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations, including fire safety, fall protection, and electrical safety

  • Ensure all personnel are properly equipped with and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety vests

  • Assist in identifying workplace hazards and evaluating associated risk levels, including risks related to equipment, working at heights, and high-pressure systems

  • Prepare and submit risk assessment reports for review and compliance

  • Ensure all permit conditions are met and approvals are obtained before commencing any work

  • Conduct safety training for new and temporary employees, covering safety protocols and emergency evacuation procedures

  • Lead onboard safety briefings, toolbox talks, and regular safety drills

  • Support emergency response efforts, including fire, injury, and personnel incidents

  • Participate in incident investigations, assist with root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective actions

Requirements
  • Diploma or Higher Nitec in Engineering preferred.

  • 2+ years' safety experience in marine/logistics/shipyard preferred; relevant academic background acceptable.
