Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Safety Coordinator to support Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) functions for a project at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). The Safety Coordinator will play a key role in conducting daily safety checks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Site Safety Management
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
- Monitor workers’ compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support the WSH Officer (WSHO) in implementing the project’s WSH programme.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain safety documentation such as permits-to-work, checklists, risk assessments (RA), and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
- Prepare safety reports for management, clients, and relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with MOM regulations, WSH Act, and SGH’s internal safety rules.
Training & Briefings
- Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings for workers and subcontractors.
- Assist with site induction for all new personnel entering the project.
Incident Management
- Assist in investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions.
- Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and SGH’s safety representatives.
- Attend required safety meetings and audits.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid WSH Level B / Safety Coordinator Course (BCSS) certification.
- Valid CSOC, First Aid, or other safety certifications (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Safety Coordinator in construction or M&E projects.
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare facilities is an advantage.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong knowledge of local WSH regulations and safety practices.
- Good communication and report‑writing skills.
- Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently.
Contract Details
- Contract Duration: Based on project duration (e.g., 6–12 months, extendable).
- Working Hours: As per project/site requirements (e.g., Monday–Saturday).
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
- Start Date: Immediate.
