Junior Automation and Robotics Application Engineer
We are seeking a proactive and solution-oriented Junior Automation and Robotics Application Engineer based in Singapore to drive the implementation and support of cutting‑edge robotic and automation solutions for our global customers. This role requires a blend of technical development expertise, direct customer engagement, and a willingness to travel internationally to solve complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Solution Development
- Work closely with internal and external customers and partners to understand their unique automation needs and develop tailored solutions utilizing robotics and other automation products.
- Apply robotics and automation principles to factories and warehouses across various industries.
- Develop proof‑of‑concept (POC) level solutions for robotics, automation, and machine vision applications.
Programming & Technical Application
- Program and configure automated systems, including:
- PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
- HMIs (Human‑Machine Interfaces)
- Industrial Robots (e.g., Kawasaki, Epson, Omron, Kuka, Fanuc)
- Cobots (Collaborative Robots)
- Vision Systems
- Support the optimization of key application elements, including machine vision performance, robot motion profiles, application layout/allocation, and program structure.
- Work with team members to integrate new automation and robotics technology into existing and future systems.
- Translate engineering drawings, Electrical Circuit Diagrams, and instructions into clear guidance for customers and implementation teams.
- Possess the ability to understand and implement Electrical Circuits.
Global Support & Training
- Provide advanced applications support to customers by traveling internationally (30%–40%) to resolve escalated technical issues.
- Support in creating training demonstrations, training materials, and conduct technical training for both internal staff and external customers/partners.

Essential Skills & Requirements
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering – ME, Electrical Engineering – EE, or Computer Science – CS).
- Also Considered: Polytechnic diploma in ME, EE, or CS with relevant professional experience.
Technical Competencies
- Direct programming experience with one or more major industrial brands for:
- PLCs/Controls: Omron, Siemens, Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley), Delta.
- Robotics: Kawasaki, Epson, Omron, Kuka, Fanuc, or other major cobot brands.
- HMI and SCADA development.
- Industrial Vision Systems setup and programming.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and Electrical Circuit Diagrams.
- Ability to understand and implement Electrical Circuits.
Communication & Analysis
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in person, by phone, and by email.
- Ability to write reports and moderately complex correspondence regarding technical topics.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics and to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

- Travel: Expected to travel (30%–40%) of the time to support applications worldwide.
