A retail hardware company in Singapore is seeking a Retail Leader to manage a new hardware storefront. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Hardware Retail Management, a proven track record of opening new retail outlets, and a strong technical knowledge of the hardware market. This position involves active floor management, overseeing inventory, and developing marketing strategies to drive foot traffic. Competitive compensation includes a base salary plus performance commission and profit sharing.
We are looking for a powerhouse Retail Leader who has "done it before" to build and run our brand-new hardware storefront. You will be the architect of the store's setup and the face of its daily operations. If you have successfully opened and managed storefronts for prominent hardware brands in Singapore, you will be highly suitable for this role.
Store Setup: Project manage the entire shop setup, including layout design, shelving, signage, POS system implementation and stock procurement.
Operation Flow: Establish all "Ground-Up" processes for POS system, sales/cash/ inventory management (including opening/closing and SOPs for customer service standards).
Active Floor Management: Spend 80-90% of your time on the shop floor, overseeing staff, engaging with customers. You will lead from the front by being active on the shop floor, handling sales, and managing complex customer inquiries.
Stock Ownership: Personally oversee the receiving of goods, stock-taking, and merchandising. Monitor inventory aging strictly; implement clearance strategies for slow-moving stock and ensure high-turnover for "hero" products.
Sales & Service: Handle walk-in retail customers and provide technical advice. You will set the gold standard for customer service for your staff to follow.
Roster & Training: Recruit, mentor and train a high-performing retail team to meet daily operational needs.
Growth Ownership: Develop and execute localized marketing strategies (digital, physical, and community-based) to drive foot traffic and ensure the store becomes a household name in the hardware industry.
Mandatory Experience: Minimum 5 years in Hardware Retail Management.
Proven Track Record: Direct experience in opening new retail outlets from scratch for established brands. Must have been part of a team that opened a new retail outlet from scratch.
Work Ethic: A "do-whatever-it-takes" attitude. Must be willing to work retail hours (including weekends/Public Holidays).
Technical Knowledge: Expert-level knowledge of Singapore’s hardware retail market and products.
Salary: S$5,500 – S$8,000.
Performance Commission: A percentage of Total Store Monthly Sales.
Profit Sharing: Annual bonus based on Store Net Profit.
