Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) or ARC(S)

is a non-profit charity organisation dedicated to serving children and adults on the autism spectrum, helping these individuals lead meaningful and independent lives in society. ARC(S) offers a range of services and resources tailored to meet the needs of the autism community.

We run a Residential Programme coupled with a supported living and training centre, and we invite passionate individuals to join us in transforming lives.

We are seeking a hands-on & energetic Residential Coach who is committed to impacting the lives of adults on the autism spectrum. The role involves respecting and supporting our clients' choices and needs, and helping them achieve their personal goals through empowerment focused on Meaning, Dignity, and Independence.

Responsibilities
  • Support a multidisciplinary team in training and assessing residents by coaching them in Residential Living Skills, including:
    • Maintaining household chores, including preparing simple meals
    • Managing their time within the residence and preparing for work
    • Living with others, sharing common spaces, meals, and chores, and considering others' needs
  • Support residents during day and night shifts (rotation):
    • Ensuring safety and security at all times
    • Responding to emergencies as required
  • Provide a safe and homely environment:
    • Co-developing house rules with residents
    • Ensuring residents are accountable for household duties
    • Fostering social interactions and community involvement
  • Maintain comfort, safety, and security:
    • Upkeep of common areas, especially for residents still learning independence in household chores
    • Assisting and coordinating repairs as needed
Requirements
  • Minimum GCE 'O' level with 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of autism and skills in housekeeping
  • Good interpersonal and relational skills
  • A passion for working with individuals on the autism spectrum

The role requires working on a shift roster that includes weekends and public holidays, with a stayover at the residence for 3 consecutive days. We offer an attractive shift pattern with up to 8.5 consecutive days off every three weeks.
