Job summary

A healthcare institution in Singapore is seeking a qualified Medical Officer to perform essential clinical duties, supervise House Officers, and ensure accurate medical documentation. The ideal candidate must hold an MBBS or recognized postgraduate qualification and have at least 3 years of experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment. The role entails patient interaction, reporting, and participation in departmental teaching activities.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or post graduate qualification recognised by Singapore Medical Council.
  • At least 3 years’ of Medical Officer experience.
  • Able to perform independently in Department.
  • Highly adaptive and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to do calls.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of a Medical Officer and be assessed by the Head of Department.
  • Assist, guide, and supervise House Officers in their duties.
  • Write urgent medical reports within a week.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Hospital Inpatient Discharge Summary Forms.
  • Assist Senior Medical Staff in running Specialist Outpatient Clinics.
  • Update relatives on patients' conditions.
  • Explain procedures and obtain consent from patients.
  • Sign Death Certificates and obtain consent for autopsies.
  • Inform Senior Medical Staff of any major problems.
  • Participate in teaching activities within the department.
  • Cover junior doctors' duties when necessary.
