Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CVD and high-vacuum systems for semiconductor growth.
  • Develop and optimise growth processes based on experimental and characterisation results.
  • Perform wafer characterisation using optical microscopy, AFM, C–V, Hall and XRD.
  • Plan, execute and troubleshoot experiments and equipment issues.
  • Perform and oversee routine and preventive maintenance of laboratory tools.
  • Manage laboratory procurement, vendors and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, SOPs and institutional requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports and contribute to proposals and publications.
  • Provide technical guidance to research assistants and junior staff.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with relevant research or industry experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience (typically 1 – 3 years) in semiconductor research, epitaxial growth, or advanced materials processing.
  • Proven ability to independently operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CVD-based systems such as MOCVD or MBE is advantageous
  • Experience with advanced material and electrical characterization tools, including AFM, XRD, C–V, and Hall measurements.
  • Ability to plan and execute experiments with minimal supervision, interpret results, and implement process improvements.
  • Experience in laboratory safety compliance, SOP implementation, and safe handling of hazardous materials and gases.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including preparation of detailed reports, experimental summaries, and project deliverables.
