POSITION TITLE: REGIONAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER (DATA CENTRE)
LOCATION: SINGAPORE
JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

The Regional Technical Support Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of SMARDT chiller systems at site. As the Regional Support Engineer, you will provide post-sale technical support for the startup, operation, service, and maintenance of SMARDT oil-free magnetic bearing chillers in the data centre vertical. You will be able to assist data centre customers and business partners in the troubleshooting process utilizing knowledge of various air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for SMARDT key data centre customers and business partners
  • Supporting data centre customers or business partners (whenever necessary) with the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new chiller systems to ensure they are set up correctly and functioning as intended.
  • Regularly communicate with customers, address and meet their needs, and coordinate with the service team and subcontractors as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to the operation, performance, and maintenance of chillers.
  • Interact with other SMARDT functional teams (Eg: Engineering, PSST) to provide customer support and achieve overall business unit objectives.
  • Lead and/or participate as a team member on supporting teams such as field quality problem solving and field service communications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in chiller systems, perform necessary repairs and adjustments, and handle warranty service tasks.
  • Identify field problem trends and provide detailed information to SMARDT departments relating to field or factory failures for product improvement processes.
  • Travel to jobs to troubleshoot, train, provide field support and support in factory witness tests.
  • And ad-hoc duties when required.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required to understand the technical aspects of the industry and effectively engage with engineering professionals.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the HVAC field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel overseas (eg: Japan, South Korea) and work unsupervised with a “can-do” approach.
  • Ability to follow procedures and policies as per company standards.
  • Aptitude for systems, documentation control, and workflows.
  • Adhering to safe work practices. Adaptability to different working cultures.
