Job summary

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Develop new products, line extensions, and improve existing products from conceptualization to product launch in accordance with project objectives and timelines
  • Develop recipes and conduct tests to optimize product design for new products, line extensions and existing products
  • Evaluate new ingredient submissions
  • Conduct sensory evaluation and shelf-life monitoring tests
  • Maintain required records and documentation to support costing, labelling, scale up and production of new and existing products
  • Works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, quality assurance and marketing in the development and launch of new and improved recipes
  • Conduct troubleshooting to a wide range of recipes, processing and efficiency problems
  • Plan & carry out maintenance and calibration of lab & pilot plant equipment
  • Ensure work instructions and records are continually reviewed and updated to reflect system requirements and current practice
  • Carry out preliminary evaluation on suppliers for purchase of lab equipment/ supplies and external laboratory services
  • Perform ad hoc duties assigned by immediate superior
Job Requirements
  • Min Diploma in Food Science, Chemistry or similar discipline
  • Has formulation skills and understanding of food systems
  • Has organizational skills and ability to cope with multiple projects and assignments
  • Understanding on relationship between process equipment and recipes, ingredient functionality, and frozen food processing will be a plus.
  • Good understanding of sensory testing and statistics
  • Must articulate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have strong computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office
