A precision manufacturing firm in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to ensure product quality and process compliance. The role involves conducting inspections, supporting audits, and collaborating across departments to improve processes. Ideal candidates have a diploma in engineering and relevant experience in quality assurance within a high-mix, low-volume setting. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Engineer to ensure product quality and process compliance in a high-mix, low-volume precision manufacturing environment. This role offers exposure to advanced metrology techniques, AS9100-compliant processes, and hands-on problem-solving, allowing engineers to contribute directly to product excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality Inspections
Perform and oversee dimensional inspections using precision hand tools (calipers, micrometers) and advanced metrology equipment including CMMs and laser trackers.
Conduct and coordinate in-process, first article, and final inspections to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and AS9100 standards.
Review and approve inspection reports, maintain traceability, and ensure proper documentation of quality records.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
Identify, document, and track non-conformances.
Support root cause investigations and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
Calibration & Audit Support
Monitor calibration activities to ensure all inspection and measuring equipment comply with standards.
Participate in and support internal and external audits (AS9100, customer, supplier) and ensure documentation readiness.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements.
Maintain quality documentation in compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and reduce defects.
Provide cross-functional support and participate in cross-training initiatives to enhance operational agility.
Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance or precision manufacturing, ideally in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
Proficient in inspection techniques and use of CMMs, laser trackers, and other metrology tools is preferred.
Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards and QMS requirements.
Competence in interpreting technical drawings and applying GD&T principles is a must.
Effective in quality documentation, reporting, and cross-team communication.
