Job summary

A leading restaurant chain in Singapore seeks a compliance officer to support food safety and hygiene management. You will be responsible for maintaining the Food Safety Management System and ensuring compliance with Halal certifications. Additionally, you will monitor workplace safety, conduct training, and facilitate audits to promote a culture of continuous improvement. Relevant experience and a degree in Food Science are critical for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food safety management systems and relevant certifications.
  • Proficient in conducting audits and training sessions.
  • Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
  • Conduct routine hygiene inspections and internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with Halal certifications and conduct audits.
  • Monitor and identify workplace hazards.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and compliance objectives.

Job description

This role supports compliance with regulations, promotes a culture of continuous improvement, and safeguards workplace safety and the environment within the business operations. Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous to quality, Halal, workplace safety and sustainability compliance.

Food Safety & Hygiene Management
  • Maintain and monitor the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in accordance with HACCP, ISO 22000 and other applicable international food safety standards required by business operations Conduct routine hygiene inspections (internal and external sites), internal audits and verification activities to ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and regulatory requirement
  • Monitor and verify CCPs and OPRPs, temperature control, cleaning and sanitation programs, pest control, and waste management systems
  • Assist in the investigation of food safety incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformities, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for food operations
  • Conduct food safety, hygiene and SOP training for food handlers and operational staff to ensure compliance
  • Support product quality assurance initiatives to ensure consistent quality and regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate internal and external inspection / audits (certification bodies and regulatory agencies)
Halal Assurance Management
  • Ensure the compliance in Halal Certifications Conditions
  • Act as Halal Assurance Officer and assist in overseeing Halal compliance in operations, documentation and audits
  • Facilitate Halal audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively
Work Safety and Environment Compliance
  • Monitor and identify workplace hazards for improvement
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, resource efficiency, and environmentally responsible practices
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by superior to support the achievement of the Company’s food safety, quality assurance, hygiene, work safety and sustainability objectives
