QA Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated QA Engineer to join our clients dynamic team in Singapore. Responsibilities
As a QA Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the QA team as their representative in Singapore.
- Preparing systems and test environments, including installation, configuration, network setup, and test data provisioning.
- Retrieving build artifacts and configurations from the upstream platform team, integrating and validating them for testing.
- Executing and creating scripted test cases, as well as conducting exploratory testing across networked components and services.
- Performing manual functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
- Collecting logs and evidence, filing clear and reproducible defect reports, and verifying fixes.
- Communicating status, risks, and readiness clearly to stakeholders across different time zones, while supporting the APAC/Singapore team’s needs.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
Must-Have Skills
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnets, routing/switching basics, DNS/DHCP, and familiarity with packet capture/analysis.
- Proficiency in Linux OS, including installation, services, networking tools, log analysis, and shell usage for setup and triage.
- A disciplined approach to manual testing, with meticulous attention to test execution, evidence gathering, and defect reporting.
- The ability to read technical specifications and translate them into actionable test scenarios and checklists.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- A background in DevOps, with knowledge of basic CI/CD concepts, containers, and infrastructure fundamentals.
- Experience with issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and Git-based workflows for retrieving build artifacts and configurations.
Who You Are
- An early-career QA professional or recent graduate with hands-on Linux and networking experience.
- Comfortable using the terminal and light scripting to prepare environments and diagnose issues.
- A clear communicator with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Collaborative, reliable, and comfortable working with teams across different time zones.
- Fluent in English, with additional language skills being a plus.
Day-to-Day
Your typical day will involve:
- Setting up and configuring test environments to ensure readiness for testing.
- Collaborating with developers and platform teams to retrieve and validate build artifacts.
- Conducting manual testing, including functional, regression, and integration tests.
- Documenting and reporting defects with clear and reproducible evidence.
- Communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders across different time zones.
- Supporting the APAC/Singapore team with quality assurance needs.
