About the job Purchasing Executive (Offshore)

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Purchasing executive for one of our offshore shipping clients. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, he/she will be responsible to source, procure and deliver all supplies (spares and stores) and services to the designated vessels on time and at the most cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a purchaser with a Ship Management Company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary point of contact, partnering the purchasing manager to provide value-add service to all the departments in the company namely the operations, technical, crewing and QHSE teams.
  • Provide regular reports on supplier and department performance against agreed.
  • KPIs to monitor progress and enable effective decision-making.
  • Provide advice to support the resolution of issues and any post-delivery disputes.
  • Working with the Purchasing Manager to deliver the department strategy for sourcing and contract management and ensure contract visibility to stakeholders.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager to execute appropriate guidance to all internal stakeholders per company guidelines and best practice.
  • Conduct appropriate supplier due diligence to identify supply chain risk and
  • provide support and guidance to stakeholders on appropriate supplier evaluation and risk mitigation methods.
  • Any other task assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing and technical service in ship management company
  • Good knowledge of ship management processes, ERP system and contract T&Cs
  • High sense of integrity and resourcefulness
  • Good communication skills written and spoken English.
  • Good negotiation skills & attention to detail and able to meet deadlines.

OTHERS

  • 5-day work week & 1-day WFH arrangement
  • Location in the West, company transportation provided to/fro nearest MRT Station.
