Job summary

A reputable food company in Singapore is seeking a Purchasing Specialist responsible for purchasing goods, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Business Administration and at least 3 years of purchasing experience. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to work well under pressure. Working hours are from 8 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with transportation provided from Lakeside MRT station.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Purchase goods, materials, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Conduct research on potential products, vendors, and services, comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal.
  • Study and analyze product consumption and market development to forecast demand.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing with vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders promptly to ensure supply availability.
  • Track orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Inspect purchased products upon delivery and report any issues promptly.
  • Verify documents for compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures, and government regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth processes related to products.
  • Track product sales and provide guidelines and support to sales teams to boost sales.
  • Provide cost analysis for new and existing products and review cost reduction activities.
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring effective communications.
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma in Business Administration or similar field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing.
  • Proficient in building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical acumen with demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of performing well under pressure and able to handle emergency and stressful situations effectively.
Working Hours

8am to 5.30pm (Monday to Friday)
