Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Project Director to lead the full project lifecycle of large-scale Waste-to-Energy (WTE) infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate must have strong engineering expertise spanning design, construction, testing & commissioning, and project management, and a proven track record of delivering complex WTE projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the WTE project from design through to commissioning, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee all engineering aspects of the project including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process design, ensuring technical compliance and effective integration.
  • Direct and coordinate the work of internal and external engineering teams, EPC contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective contract administration and manage commercial, legal, and risk matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage key project milestones, budgets, procurement, resource planning, and reporting to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Foster close collaboration with government agencies, authorities, and third-party contractors to secure permits, approvals, and ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Lead project reviews, quality assurance, and progress reporting at all phases, from feasibility to final commissioning.
  • Champion safety and sustainability across all project stages.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental) or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering and project management experience, in overseeing design, construction, testing and commissioning of large scale WTE facilities (>750 tonnes per day), large-scale industrial or utilities projects (including Oil & Gas and Power).
  • Proven track record of delivering WTE projects (>750 tonnes per day)
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering codes, construction best practices, and EPC and Design & Build delivery frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and systems
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration or Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred.
