Key job scopes and duties include:

Scheduling and Coordination

  • Creating Schedules: Developing daily, weekly, or monthly production schedules and worker rosters based on customer orders, sales forecasts, and production capacity.
  • Workforce Planning: Advising department leadership of staffing requirements and managing short-notice roster alterations, such as covering for sickness, leave, or training.
  • Conflict Resolution: Liaising with different departments (production, sales, logistics, management) to coordinate activities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and address delays.
  • Logistics Coordination: Arranging for the delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies and parts to ensure a smooth flow of materials and meet deadlines.

Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Data Entry: Performing accurate data entry and maintaining production records using office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook).
  • Documentation Management: Compiling and preparing documentation related to production sequences, personnel schedules, purchase orders, and maintenance orders.
  • Reporting: Preparing production reports and communicating production progress, data, and material usage to management.

Inventory and Quality Control Support

  • Material Readiness: Ensuring the proper materials and equipment are on hand for production by monitoring inventory levels and contacting suppliers to verify shipment details.
  • Quality Checks: Examining documents, materials, or products to verify adherence to requirements and standards.
  • Monitoring: Recording production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.

This role is primarily administrative but requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure seamless production processes.
