The Digital Assets Product Lead role is responsible for designing, launching, and managing end‑to‑end digital‑asset products (custody, trading, funds, structured solutions, tokenized assets) that fit wealth clients’ needs while meeting bank‑grade risk, control, and regulatory standards.
The role blends traditional wealth‑management product ownership with deep crypto‑native understanding and demands strong cross‑functional leadership across front office, technology, risk, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Define the digital‑asset product vision and roadmap for the wealth‑management franchise (e.g., custody, execution, funds, staking, tokenized RWAs), aligned with overall WM strategy and risk appetite)
- Build business cases for new capabilities, including client demand analysis, P&L, capital and liqui
dity impact, and operational model design (onboarding, booking, lifecycle, reporting).
- Own end‑to‑end product delivery: requirements, user journeys, prioritization, backlog, and go‑live for digital‑asset platforms used by RMs, advisors, and clients (e‑banking/mobile).
- Act as product owner with engineering and design to specify APIs, wallet models, ledger integration, connectivity to exchanges/venues, and downstream reporting and reconciliation.
- Drive vendor and partner evaluations (custodians, exchanges, OTC desks, tokenization platforms, data providers), including due diligence, integration scope, and commercial terms.
- Set and maintain product governance: product programs, approval forums, change management and periodic reviews.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance alignment (MiCA, FATF Travel Rule, sanctions, KYC/AML, suitability/appropriateness, tax, investor protection).
- Coordinate risk, legal, ops, and compliance to design controls for safekeeping, fraud, segregation of assets, margining, collateral, and operational resilience.
- Continuously scan market, protocols, DeFi, and tokenization trends; perform competitor analysis and propose new offerings, pilots, or partnerships.
- Oversee ongoing product operations and client experience, including incident management, service‑level monitoring, and iterative enhancement of platforms and journeys.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- 5–10 years of experience in product roles in wealth management, capital markets, or fintech, with at least several years directly in digital assets, crypto, or blockchain.
- Degree in finance, economics, business, computer science, or related field; professional credentials like CFA or equivalent digital‑asset certifications are often valued but not mandatory.
- Deep understanding of crypto markets, key protocols, stablecoins, DeFi, staking, tokenomics, and on‑chain risks, plus familiarity with Web3 tooling and crypto‑data platforms (e.g., Glassnode, Dune, Coin Metrics).
- Strong knowledge of traditional wealth‑management products and structures (funds, ETFs, notes, structured products, financing, custody) and how digital assets map into existing booking models and client journeys.
- Experience with institutional‑grade digital‑asset infrastructure: cold/hot/warm wallet models, MPC, segregated vs omnibus accounts, key‑management, settlement flows, and integrations with custodians and venues.
- Strong product‑management toolkit: discovery, user research with RMs and clients, writing epics and user stories, backlog management, acceptance criteria, and release planning.
- Data and analytics capability: use of product analytics and Business Intelligence tools, understanding of trading and position data, ability to define KPIs (AUM, flows, spread income, utilization, risk metrics) and run experiments.
- Working familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to digital assets (e.g., licensing regimes, travel‑rule standards, market‑abuse rules, custody requirements) in key wealth hubs.
