Job description

About Us

Rainforest is Asia’s leading e-commerce brand aggregator. We acquire and scale winning brands to build a modern consumer goods brand platform. Our mission is to fulfil the potential of micro brands, growing brands with great products to delight customers worldwide.

Job Description

This is a remote position.

You will be primarily responsible for developing and improving products within our existing ComfyBumpy range—from new variations and designs to running change improvements, together with the Product Development Lead. You’ll manage the whole end-to-end process, from idea validation and supplier sourcing to production handover.

Once concepts are validated, you’ll source suitable suppliers, request and evaluate samples, and gather feedback from the PD Lead, internal teams, and, where relevant, target users. Before mass production, you’ll lead cross-functional teams to confirm packaging, MOQ, lead time, product compliance, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

You will be involved in the entire product development process, working across multiple functions to transform the initial concept into a viable commercial product.

  • Work with the PD Lead to identify development needs within our existing ComfyBumpy range—from new variations and design updates to running change improvements, and help build a strong product pipeline.
  • Conduct market research to identify and evaluate new product ideas with customer-centric approaches to validate the ideas.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate suppliers, communicate requirements such as specifications, costs, MOQ, lead time, order and evaluate samples, and select the ideal supplier for each project.
  • Coordinate with other team members, such as product designers, legal, compliance, quality, to communicate requirements to suppliers regarding compliance, quality, and specification standards to ensure final sample design and quality meet expectations.
  • Work with marketing team or external agencies to ensure marketing deliverables are completed according to timeline and brand guidelines, as well as with the operations team to ensure correct costs and MOQ.
  • Manage project timelines, keep stakeholders updated, and ensure each project is completed and launched on schedule.
  • Review the performance of launches and running changes, track success metrics, share learnings, and feed improvements back into the development cycle.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in a product development role, ideally within the baby, kids, or toys categories, with end-to-end experience from ideation and validation to sourcing, sample validation, quality inspection, and mass production.
  • At least 1-2 years experience in project management.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects with timelines and deadlines.
  • Self-directed / pro-active and motivated to push projects forward even without clear directives.
  • Good understanding of the Western consumer markets (US & Europe) and ability to make product decisions accordingly.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with various project stakeholders.
  • Experience dealing with suppliers in and out of China.
