Your Role

Mighty Jaxx is seeking a highly creative and experienced Product Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative lifestyle and novelty products based on in house as well as popular brands and intellectual properties (IPs). You will be a key driver in translating brand essence and IP narratives into engaging, marketable products that resonate with target audiences. This is a mid-level position requiring a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, driving projects from initial concept through to production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our brand's identity, messaging, and design are consistently represented. This is a hybrid on-site role that requires close collaboration with other team members.

Responsibilities

• Generate original and compelling product concepts inspired by established brands and IPs, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and brand guidelines.
• Conduct thorough research on target audiences, competitive landscapes, and brand/IP specifics.
• Develop mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings to visualise product concepts and narratives.
• Create detailed 3D models, CAD drawings, and technical specifications for product manufacturing.
• Develop prototypes and mockups to evaluate product functionality, aesthetics, and user experience.
• Refine designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders, licensors, and consumer testing.
• Ensure products accurately reflect the brand's identity and adhere to licensor guidelines.
• Collaborate with brand managers and licensors to secure approvals and ensure brand consistency.
• Translate IP narratives into tangible product experiences that enhance fan engagement.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sourcing, and production, to ensure seamless product development.
• Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders, effectively communicating design rationale and key features.
• Maintain clear and organised documentation of design processes and specifications.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences in the lifestyle and novelty product market.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.
• Proactively seek information regarding new and trending IPs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Take ownership of the design process from concept to production, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot design and production challenges, providing creative and effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Prior experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing lifestyle and novelty product development, preferably within a branded/licensed product environment.
• Expert proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360), CAD software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
• Excellent sketching, rendering, technical drawing and prototyping skills.
• Exceptional creative thinking, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of brand management and IP licensing.
