Qualifications

Job description

As a Process Engineer within the Power & Gas Division, will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing processes to ensure the efficient production and distribution of power and gas products. Have experience on Feasibility Studies, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), pre-FEED, and Detailed Design. Responsible for producing process engineering deliverables such as P&ID, PFDs, HBD, WBD, UFDs Studies, Reports, Process Calculations and Process Equipment Datasheets.

Accountable for providing comments on vendor package documentation, which include P&IDs, calculations, mechanical drawings, layout drawings, utility consumption data and cause and effect diagrams. Proficient in producing simulations. Responsible for executing Power and Gas process engineering activities for Produced Water Treatment, Sulphate removal Unit, Deaeration and vacuum generation package and Water Injection Systems etc within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Design & Diagrams: Develop key process documents including PFDs, P&IDs, UFDs, PSFDs, HBDs, WBDs, and related engineering drawings to support design and operations.
  • Specification & Documentation: Prepare equipment specifications, process datasheets, design basis documents, system engineering manuals, and cause & effect diagrams.
  • Calculations & Simulation: Conduct process simulations and perform equipment sizing and hydraulic calculations for vessels, exchangers, pumps, and control/relief devices in accordance with international standards.
  • Design Reviews & Safety Studies: Participate in and close out actions from P&ID reviews, HAZOP, HAZID, HAC meetings, and vendor technology evaluations.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, piping, instrumentation) to resolve process issues, define interfaces, and align on engineering deliverables.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and ensure contractor/vendor deliverables conform to engineering codes, client specifications, and project guidelines.
  • Change & Query Management: Raise and manage design changes, technical queries, decision logs, and deviation records in alignment with project requirements.
  • Vendor & Client Engagement: Liaise with vendors, clients, and project stakeholders to review bids, resolve technical queries, and support consistent project execution.

Qualifications & Requirement:

  • Educational & Professional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license is an advantage.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of process engineering experience, particularly in the power or gas industry.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of water-steam cycles and hands-on experience in the detailed design of combined cycle power plant projects.
  • Project Delivery: Proven track record in successfully executing projects on time and within budget.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiar with process simulation tools such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, GTPro/SteamPro, and process optimization techniques.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in process safety, environmental compliance, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Strong written and verbal English skills; effective collaborator across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Able to work independently in fast-paced environments and willing to travel or be stationed at project sites as needed.
