The Plant and Machinery Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and operational readiness of all construction-related plant and equipment. This role ensures optimal performance, safety compliance, and cost-efficiency across all project sites.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations and maintenance of heavy machinery, tools, and vehicles.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
- Ensure all equipment complies with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and asset integrity protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, spare parts, usage, and location.
- Coordinate logistics for equipment mobilization and demobilization across sites.
- Plan storage and transportation in alignment with project timelines.
- Monitor equipment-related expenditures and optimize resource allocation.
- Negotiate with suppliers and manage equipment-related budgets.
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians and mechanics, including task assignment and training.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report regularly to senior management.
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment on equipment-related expectations, safety standards, and operational updates.
- Travel overseas as required to support equipment operations, inspections, or project coordination.
- Adherence to safety practices in the workplace.
Skills and Requirements
- At least a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in plant and equipment management, preferably in construction or precast segments.
- Strong knowledge of machinery operations, maintenance protocols, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills.
