Job summary

A leading insurance company in Singapore seeks a P&C actuarial valuation manager to oversee reserve valuations, business planning, and capital management. The role involves assessing financial conditions, implementing actuarial methodologies, and collaborating across teams. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of actuarial experience, strong analytical skills, and good progress with actuary exams, along with knowledge of relevant software. This position offers opportunities for mentoring less experienced actuarial staff and contributing to significant business decisions.

Qualifications

  • 5 years or more of general insurance actuarial experience.
  • Good progress with actuarial exams, preferably fully qualified.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Value insurance technical liabilities on a quarterly basis.
  • Implement actuarial methodologies and assumptions.
  • Ensure reserving processes are consistent with policies.
  • Assess the company’s financial condition.
  • Plan/forecast loss ratio, improving quality and timeliness.
  • Contribute to performance monitoring meetings.
  • Identify mentoring opportunities for actuarial staff.
  • Support various functions on reserving and strategic decisions.
