Key responsibilities include managing production processes, ensuring quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in automotive wrapping, with strong skills in team management, quality control, and preventive maintenance. This role involves substantial collaboration with sales and customer service to meet operational targets.
The Operations Manager at Hydrowrapz is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end manufacturing and automotive surface-finishing operations, including vehicle wrapping, protective coating, lamination, and related production activities. The role ensures that all operational processes are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards and production targets.
The Operations Manager plans, schedules, and coordinates daily manufacturing and wrapping operations, ensuring smooth workflow across preparation, surface treatment, wrapping/coating application, curing, inspection, and final delivery stages. This includes aligning production capacity with customer orders, project timelines, and service-level commitments.
The role oversees the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment and tools used in automotive wrapping and coating processes, such as cutting plotters, heat guns, curing systems, spray or application tools, and surface-preparation machinery. The Operations Manager ensures proper equipment usage, preventive maintenance, and minimal downtime.
The Operations Manager supervises technicians and production staff, ensuring correct application techniques, adherence to process specifications, and consistent workmanship quality. This includes conducting hands‑on training in wrapping, coating, lamination, and finishing methods, as well as enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Quality control is a core responsibility of the role. The Operations Manager establishes inspection checkpoints throughout the manufacturing and wrapping process, identifies defects such as bubbles, misalignment, peeling, surface contamination, or coating inconsistencies, and implements corrective and preventive actions to maintain high‑quality outcomes.
The role manages raw materials and consumables, including vinyl films, coating chemicals, adhesives, solvents, protective layers, and packaging materials. This includes inventory forecasting, supplier coordination, waste reduction, and ensuring materials meet technical and safety specifications.
The Operations Manager ensures strict compliance with workplace safety, environmental regulations, and industry best practices. This includes managing chemical handling, ventilation, PPE usage, fire safety measures, and proper disposal of hazardous materials associated with coating and surface‑finishing operations.
The role collaborates with sales, customer service, and management teams to provide technical input on project feasibility, cost estimation, production timelines, and customization requirements. This ensures that customer expectations are aligned with operational capabilities.
Additionally, the Operations Manager monitors operational KPIs such as production efficiency, defect rates, rework levels, material usage, turnaround time, and equipment utilization. The role prepares operational reports and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and scalability of manufacturing and automotive wrapping operations.
