Key Operational Liaison and Control Functions
- Serve as a primary point of contact and intermediary with HOK/HBL branches for transactional and ad hoc operational matters.
- Resolve issues and manage communications between Trade Operations and the COE-Trade team to ensure seamless coordination.
- Oversee outsourcing activities, including vendor management, contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Review AML screening results on transactions conducted by Branch Operations team to ensure compliance.
Oversight of Policies and Procedures for Operational Teams
- Monitor policy and procedural review deadlines, sending timely reminders for updates.
- Timely implement and review of policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Propose workflow improvements and procedural enhancements to the Country Operations Head.
- Develop, maintain and execute controls to ensure adherence to the established policies and procedures.
Support to Country Operations Head
- Act as a liaison with auditors, coordinating efforts with operational teams to address audit findings.
- Review audit findings, develop corrective action plans, and establish periodic controls to prevent issue recurrence.
- Identify and report adverse events or operational deficiencies to the Country Operations Head for prompt resolution.
- Serve as a backup for Country Operations Head during his absence, ensuring seamless operational continuity.
Other tasks
- Impart regular training to staff to improve their technical/professional skill/efficiency.
- Participate in IRCR activities and conduct independent control testing to assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Collaborate with Head Office on various operational projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by Country Operations Head
Minimum qualifications
Minimum requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in trade finance or related operational fields.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new environments and foster effective relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an extensive network within Head Office and branches.
- Proven team management and proactive problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical skills, particularly in project management and process improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
