ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Night Therapeutic Care Worker (Night Youth Mentor) is responsible for providing trauma-informed

care, supervision, and management to Dayspring residents (female teenagers) at night.

  • Provide care and supervision at night according to residents’ individual care plan
  • Provide health and medical assistance to residents at night
  • Manage residents’ behaviour at night using the approved reward and discipline system
  • De-escalate and diffuse tension when residents dysregulate at night
  • Assist residents when they prepare to sleep at night and wake up in the morning for school
  • Complete bed checks and half-hourly rounds at night
  • Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness of the care environment at night
  • Respond to crisis situations and any unusual or challenging events at night
  • Prepare breakfast and ensure residents take their breakfast
  • Dispense residents’ daily allowance and manage the petty cash for residents’ pocket
  • Chart resident’s behaviour and progress using the online Residential Record.
  • Maintain an updated record of all residential records and logbooks
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Pre-Requisite:

  • Agreeable to do permanent night shift
  • Good command of English
  • Must be able to work with teenage girls in a sensitive environment
  • Licensing Agency, MSF, requires direct care staff to be minimum 21 years of age

Competencies:

  • Minimum GCE 'N' Level, or equivalent qualifications
  • With experience in working with youth at-risk
  • With basic processing and counselling skills
  • With knowledge of common issues and disorders that appears in trauma and abuse
  • Suitable emotional attributes and resilence
  • Good physical and mental health. Suitable emotional attributes and resilience
  • Good interpersonal skills to work independently and as a team
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and positive attitude to life and work
  • Nurturing yet with clear, consistent and firm boundaries
