Job summary

A leading telecommunications company in Singapore seeks a motivated individual to ensure the maintenance and operations of its National Quantum Safe Network+ (NQSN+) products. You will handle preventive maintenance, support expansions and upgrades, and assist engineering teams. Candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree and experience in cloud or DevOps. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of container technologies. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in cloud or DevOps environments and systems operations.
  • Working knowledge of container technologies and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Internet routing protocols including TCP/IP.
  • Possess knowledge on routers, switches, and firewalls installation and upgrade.

Job description

To support Singtel’s National Quantum Safe Network+ (NQSN+) products and services in all aspects of maintenance and operations

  • Handle regular preventive maintenance on the NQSN+.
  • Support the expansion, upgrades and rollouts of new network and systems infrastructure involving hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual machines, dockers, containers, network monitoring and management systems.
  • Support engineering teams on new product/ feature implementation, node deployment, and technical support matters.
  • Contribute to and assist with presales activities for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and timely resolution of faults/issues within the scope of NQSN+.
  • Analyse NQSN+ performance and take proactive actions and preventive measures to monitor and enhance the network performance including software and hardware upgrades, etc.
  • Prepare statistical reports on network and equipment performance.
  • Perform NQSN+ performance analysis.
  • Proactively engages Engineering teams and recommend courses of actions to prevent incidents that may be caused by performance issues.
Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical / Electronic / Computer Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems from a recognized institution.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in cloud or DevOps environments and systems operations.
  • Working knowledge of container technologies, orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), and Linux-based operating systems.
  • Possess knowledge on routers, switches, and firewalls installation and upgrade procedures, e.g. Cisco, Juniper and Fortinet.
  • Some knowledge about Quantum Key Distribution and Encryption technologies.
  • Understanding of Internet routing protocols and technologies including TCP/IP.
  • Good analytical and trouble‑shooting skills in technical fault isolation and rectification.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be a team player.
  • Self‑starter and highly driven with the ability to work independently, as well as in a team.
  • Able to document and investigate existing infrastructure for the benefit of maintaining and operating the environment, discovering possible security breaches or vulnerabilities or finding opportunities for improvement for optimal network performance.
  • Possess basic knowledge of office applications skills e.g. Excel, Visio, Word.
  • Manage principal vendors, providers, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write and implement policies, guidelines and SOPs for managing the infrastructure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
