Metal Trader (100% Hunter)

• Up till $15000 basic + Monthly allowance (To be discussed during interview) + Commission (To be discussed during interview)

We are a regional trading company into an international resources group with a global footprint. We've built a robust business network connecting Asia-Pacific, Central Asia, and broader international markets.

We are looking for an experienced trader who will be responsible for managing trading books for non-ferrous metal, underlying, developing and executing trading strategies, and collaborating with Sales and Structuring to expand our franchise.

You will work closely with other traders, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure the success of our trading operations.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Metal Trader, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our trading operations. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Profitably Executing Trades: Leverage your established industry network to execute profitable physical trades across the metals markets.
• Managing Trading Books: Oversee trading portfolios, manage risk, and generate revenue by developing smart trading strategies.
• Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with Sales and Structuring to build strong relationships with clients and expand the business.
• Building Client Relationships: Cultivate relationships with key clients and stakeholders to create new business opportunities.
• Market Intelligence: Anticipate client demand and facilitate large trades, staying ahead of market dynamics to ensure we’re positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
• Smooth Operations: Manage your team’s purchasing and selling portfolio, working alongside logistics, operations, and risk management teams to ensure seamless, profitable operations.
• Driving Growth: Coordinate with desk analysts and Sales to further develop our franchise and market position.
• Maintaining Compliance: Ensure all trading activities comply with regulations and internal governance standards.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven Trading Expertise: Minimum of 8 years of experience in metals trading (Base, Precious, or Ferrous), with a solid understanding of market dynamics.
• Established Industry Network: A well-established network of contacts in the metals industry, with a proven ability to leverage these relationships for business development.
• Market Insight: Strong ability to analyze market trends, spot opportunities, and find suitable counterparties to facilitate profitable trades.
• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in international trade, economics, or a related field.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of metals products and clients, with experience managing trading books and portfolios.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office and other software tools, with a keen understanding of market analytics and trade execution platforms.
