JOB DESCRIPTION

Medical Officers are conditionally or fully registered doctors

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Management of all patients under their care, including but not limited to:
    • Active involvement in daily ward rounds
    • Ordering and reviewing of investigations and treatment
    • Performing and/or assisting in procedures and interventions
    • Communicating with patients, relatives, and colleagues
    • Obtaining informed consent for major procedures
  2. Assisting and supervising House Officers in their team
  3. Reviewing and/or clerking all new cases in their assigned wards/teams and performing emergency treatment
  4. Updating and completing case records of all patients under their care
  5. Assist in the running of Specialist Outpatient Clinics
  6. Counselling patients who wish to be discharged against medical advice
  7. Writing medical reports and signing death certificates
  8. Participating in department training activities and meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduation from one of the medical schools recognized by the Singapore Medical Council
  • Completion of housemanship
  • High standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
  • Good communication skills
