Job summary

A manufacturing engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Material Planning Specialist. The ideal candidate will manage material flow, ensuring timely delivery of parts for various projects. Responsibilities include updating dashboards, managing inventory, creating part numbers, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Applicants should possess a degree/diploma in a relevant field and have at least 3 years of experience in a material planning role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years in Material Planning role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiar with ERP workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare drawings and BOM for loading.
  • Prepare and facilitate raising purchase requisition.
  • Update parts status dashboard.
  • Ensure correct parts and quantities received from logistics.
  • Sort and issue parts to assembly department.
  • Manage supplier's reject and replacement parts.
  • Coordinate with project manager and buyer for on-time delivery.
  • Control spare parts and consumables inventory.
  • Create new part and project numbers.
  • Weekly compile project plan vs actual material cost.
  • Maintain KPIs and present to management.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Plan.
  • Support co-workers during their absence.

Job Responsibilities: (Key responsibilities of the job)
  • Receive and prepare drawings and bill-of-material (BOM) from engineering department for loading
  • Prepare and facilitate raising purchase requisition
  • Update parts status dashboard
  • Receive parts from logistics, ensure correct parts and their quantities, and signed off the invoice and delivery order (DO)
  • Sort out parts to various projects and issue parts to assembly department
  • Submit signed invoice and DO to finance department
  • Manage supplier's reject and replacement parts
  • Coordinate with project manager and buyer to ensure parts on-time-delivery (OTD) according to project schedule
  • Manage and control the spare parts, hardwares and consumeables inventory
  • Create new part numbers, new work order numbers and project numbers
  • Weekly compile and publish project plan vs actual material cost
  • Maintain KPIs and present to management
  • Participate in Contineous Improvement Plan (CIP) for work process efficiency.
  • Support co-workers during their absence
  • Perform works as and when assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in the area of Production Management, Materials Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or equivalent
  • At least 3 years in Material Planning role within the manufacturing industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise and work in tight deadline
  • Independent, resourceful, proactive, well organised and attentive to details with strong drive and initiative
  • Familiar with ERP workflow
