Job Scope:
Marketing communications:
- Build and maintain client's external facing website and internal site.
- Build and maintain client's presence through social platforms such as LinkedIn.
- Develop and update client’s physical brochure, and other forms of physical publication such as a periodic research report.
- Create and distribute the monthly newsletter for all staff and relevant management and manage client's WhatsApp announcement channel.
Event organizing:
- Plan and execute yearly symposium/workshop, and other scientific communication events.
- Organize 1-2 hour seminars once or twice a month, depending on the external speakers.
- Organize monthly journal club for client's internal research strategizing.
Outreach:
- Plan and execute outreach events on an ad hoc basis, e.g. school science competition, preparation, comms, and execution; organising / liaising for external outreach
- Coordinate external visiting events, e.g. lab visits, high-profile global scientific KOLs and government scientific advisors, cadence roughly once a month.
Others:
- Produce photography / videography, poster, banners on an ad hoc basis, e.g. when there is a press release where the client is involved.
- Visualize slide decks and refine outgoing messages for major meetings, ad hoc and require fast turnaround, average 1 deck and message per month.
- Contribute to other duties as part of the team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marketing communications, outreach, and event organization.
- Demonstrated experience in managing websites, publications, and scientific communications content.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with researchers, management, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Good to have:
- Interdisciplinary background, particularly spanning STEM fields and the social sciences/humanities.
- Experience working in research projects or in research academic environment.
- Background or exposure to science or technical communications, including drafting academic materials and translating complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Working Arrangement:
- Monday to Thursday: 8.30am to 6pm
- Friday: 8.30am to 5.30pm
