Job Summary
The Director – Market & Technical Services is a senior leadership role responsible for driving market expansion, business development, and technical excellence for the company’s Electrical and Furniture solutions serving the hospitality sector. This role integrates market strategy, client engagement, technical governance, and project support across Singapore and international markets.
Responsibilities
Market Strategy & Business Development
- Develop and implement market expansion strategies targeting hospitality projects such as hotels, serviced apartments, resorts, and mixed-use developments to increase revenue and market share.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities by engaging hotel operators, developers, consultants, designers, and contractors in Singapore and overseas markets.
- Lead pre-sales and tendering processes by providing technical clarifications, conducting value engineering, and positioning solutions to win competitive bids.
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with key accounts, regional hospitality groups, and international partners to support business growth.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing benchmarks, and emerging hospitality design and technology requirements to inform strategic decisions.
Technical Services & Solutions Leadership
- Provide technical leadership for electrical systems and hospitality furniture solutions, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations including Singapore codes and relevant overseas standards.
- Oversee the preparation and review of technical design support documents, shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and prototype approvals to maintain quality and compliance.
- Drive initiatives for standardization, modularization, and innovation in electrical and furniture solutions to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Support value engineering efforts that optimize costs without compromising safety, quality, or brand standards.
- Serve as the senior technical authority during client meetings, design workshops, and project reviews to resolve technical challenges and align solutions with client expectations.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, manufacturing, and installation teams to ensure seamless execution of projects from concept through delivery and post-handover support.
- Provide technical and commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle to mitigate risks and enhance client satisfaction.
- Manage interfaces and coordinate with consultants, interior designers, MEP engineers, and main contractors to resolve complex technical or contractual issues impacting project delivery.
Overseas & Regional Operations
- Lead market entry and business development initiatives in overseas markets, including Asia-Pacific and other targeted regions, adapting technical offerings to meet regional regulations, hospitality brand standards, and local supply chain conditions.
- Evaluate and appoint overseas suppliers, manufacturing partners, and technical service providers to support regional operations and ensure quality standards.
Leadership & Governance
- Lead and mentor market development and technical services teams to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and client focus.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, documentation, and best practices across the organization to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
- Contribute to strategic planning, budgeting, and long-term business growth initiatives at the leadership level.
