Job summary

A leading marine services provider in Singapore is seeking an inspection engineer responsible for conducting inspections according to specifications. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in relevant fields and certifications in engineering. The role requires generating test plans, preparing inspection reports, and liaising with classification societies. The ideal candidate is physically fit, independent, and possesses good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 2 years working experience in oil & gas or shipyard environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Physically fit and willing to learn.

Overview

The Job:

Responsible to perform incoming, in-process and outgoing inspections according to their specifications and standards

Responsibilities
  • Responsible to perform incoming, in-process and outgoing inspections according to their specifications and standards
  • Generate inspection & test plans and quality assurance plans to meet customer requirement
  • Prepare and compile all inspection reports after the completion of site inspection with detailed drawings of the location of each inspection
  • Review and compile inspection delivery documents to ensure their completeness and accuracy
  • Liaise with classification societies and owners on various inspection activities and issues
  • Implement and work in accordance with quality management system procedures
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
  • Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma / Degree holder in Engineering field with PCN Certification or its equivalent
  • Those with hands on experience in welding Inspection with CSWIP3.1 or AWS-CWI certification /quality control activities will be a plus
  • Knowledge on Non-Destructive Testing/Hull Visual/Ultrasonic Thickness Gauging/Magnetic Particle Inspection/Dye Penetrant Testing inspections, etc will be an added advantage
  • At least 2 years working experience in an oil & gas, fabrication, welding or shipyard environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office application and AutoCAD software
  • Good communication skills
  • Meticulous and result oriented
  • Ability to multi task between projects and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Physically fit & having a willing to learn and work attitude
  • Can work long hours and operationally ready as required
  • Overseas travelling is required
