Qualifications

Job description

In this role, you will contribute to the company by providing stable support and optimized system to company’s quality and vetting activities to achieve safe and economical operations.

Job Description
Ship Safety and Quality Management
  • Collecting information, including but not limited to, safety, security and pollution prevention, and providing this information to the KLINE HQ and/or related ship management companies.
  • Research and have a good understanding of new emerging regulations and provide the information to KLINE HQ and / or related ship management companies.
  • Perform data analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Responding to the major accidents on KLINE’s operating vessels.
  • Conduct training sessions for crew on safety and quality topics.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Vessel Monitoring and Support Center
  • Conduct monitoring of KLINE’s operating vessels within a specific period. (On-duty, including weekends/PH)
  • Ensuring the vessels’ safety navigation, monitoring their activities and alerts from the software, responding immediately if necessary.
  • Assist in the development of the center’s function to support ship management companies.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Digitalization project for onboard operations
  • Assess current technologies and processes, identifying areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Perform research and analysis on project-related topics, such as market trends, best practices etc. and industry feedback.
  • Identify and implement new technologies to improve onboard working environment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies for onboard operations.
  • Provide expert guidance on the implementation of cybersecurity infrastructure for new projects.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in maritime digital transformation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital initiatives, providing regular reports to management.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Supporting New Business
  • Provide expert marine advice, technical support and consultancy for the development of new businesses and technologies as requested by KLINE.
  • Continuous research and study on technologies of new shipping areas such as Liquified CO2 transportation and use of alternate fuels.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirement
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Nautical Science or a related field.
  • Certificate of Competency (COC) Deck as required by Reg. II/1 of STCW from reputable Flag State.
  • Minimum of 2 years of seagoing experience as a junior deck officer onboard ocean-going vessels that trading over the home-trade limit.
  • Seagoing experience on gas carrier will be an advantage.
  • Working experience on shore in shipping/marine industry will be an advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISPS, MLC and ISM Code.
  • Good knowledge of IMDG Code and DG handling.
  • Good level of IT understanding.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity trends, principles and practices.
  • Ability to innovate and adopt new technologies.
  • Good communications skill and fluent in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multinational environment on email / phone.
  • Work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Meticulous, proactive, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
  • Contribute to improving processes by self-initiative, resourcefulness, and diligence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Literate in Computer & MS office Application.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Working Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm, 2 days off per week (days off may not necessarily fall on weekends due to shift)
