Job summary

A leading marine engineering firm is seeking a mechanical engineer to provide support for marine and hull-related systems on FPSOs and offshore vessels. The role involves maintaining marine mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with international standards, and participating in operational support and technical evaluations. Candidates should have a degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering and 8–15 years of experience in the offshore engineering sector. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of marine mechanical equipment.

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in FPSO, offshore vessels, or marine engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and Class requirements.
  • Experience working with shipyards, Class societies, and offshore operations.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer and maintain marine mechanical systems including ballast and bilge systems.
  • Support FPSO hull and marine systems design and modification.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables like specifications and technical reports.

Job description
Role Purpose

Provide mechanical engineering support for marine and hull-related systems on FPSOs and offshore vessels, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant design, operation, and maintenance of marine mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer and maintain marine mechanical systems including ballast, bilge, ballast treatment, fuel oil, lube oil, seawater cooling, compressed air, and utility systems.

  • Support FPSO hull and marine systems design, modification, and operational troubleshooting.

  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, calculations, drawings, and technical reports.

  • Ensure compliance with Class rules and international standards (ABS, DNV, BV, LR, SOLAS, MARPOL).

  • Interface with hull, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams.

  • Support commissioning, start-up, and sea trials activities.

  • Review vendor documents and participate in technical bid evaluations.

  • Support maintenance strategies, spare parts recommendations, and reliability improvements.

  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and risk assessments for marine systems.

  • Support dry-docking, life-extension, and brownfield modification works.

  • Ensure HSSE and quality requirements are embedded in all engineering activities.
